Thomas Blue came to the lodge for a dove hunting trip on July 2019 with his wife Elizabeth, his son in law Alvin and his friend Ron. He is from North Carolina, Washington.
Lucas, our host, picked them up from Amerian Park hotel in Cordoba during the morning and they enjoyed 3 full days of limitless dove hunting at “El Cortijo” lodge. We usually wait for the hunters at the airport but this group decided to spend a few days in the city and we adapted to their itinerary.
Alvin and Thomas got into our “1000 doves in 1 day” club with 1023 doves hunted by Alvin and 1057 by Thomas, congratulations for that achievement.
While the boys were in the fields hunting doves, Elizabeth went on a tour around Cordoba city with Berenice, our english speaking guide. The tour started in the morning after breakfast with a short trip to the city of Cordoba. She visited Capuchinos Church, the Jesuit Block (UNESCO World Heritage Site), the Cathedral and other historical buildings.
Cordoba is a fascinating mix of old and new. There are 400 old buildings made by the Jesuits and a bohemian neighbourhood full of art galleries and young people walking around or having a drink.
Food is such an important aspect when discovering a different culture, we chose the traditional La Mamma restaurant for lunch. This sophisticated place with a relaxing atmosphere serves exquisite Argentinian and Italian dishes. Elizabeth ordered beef, green salad and a full-body wine; what an incredible combination.
Elizabeth remarked that what she liked the most about the tour was sharing a moment with someone from another country and having the chance to talk about different ways of thinking and living.

Most organized hunt I have ever been on. Guide and bird boys were excellent. Lodge and staff were most accommodating to our every need. Birds were Plentiful.
