FISHING IN ARGENTINA
Dorado fishing in Santa Fé

The Paraná River crosses the Provinces of Misiones, Chaco, Corrientes, Santa Fe, and Entre Ríos until it finally flows into the Río de la Plata (River Plate). Dorado fish, also known as “the tiger of the rivers”, is the most beautiful fish that lives in the waters of the Paraná River.

Its courage and voracity when it has to get food have earned it its nickname. With amazing teeth, the Dorado, once it swallows the bait, starts making acrobatic jumps.

This increases the excitement during the fishing trip. There is not such a fighting species in sports fishing other than Dorado. The fight with this great fish can take several minutes, generating tension and adrenaline.

Dorado fishing is considered to be one of the best kinds of fishing around the world. Anglers can go fly casting, spinning, trolling, or bait fishing for Dorado, which can be caught in the channel of the islands of the Paraná River, in the city of San Javier, Province of Santa Fe.

THE LODGE

Our estancia SANTA NORA is located 25 miles north of the city of San Javier, in the Province of Santa Fe. It is a typical estancia of the area, totally improved (2006) and it is located next to the Paraná River, a privileged spot, with abundant flora and fauna.

The estancia has five comfortable double bedrooms with private bathroom, dining room, living room, and bar. In the yard of the estancia, there is another dining room used to enjoy typical Argentine asados (barbecues) or grilled fish, usually caught by our clients, just across the estancia.

The menu at the estancia consists of a great variety of typical dishes of the area, including pickling brine duck, duck à la crème de moutarde, roast Dorado, grilled Surubí, etc. Besides we have a selection of the best Argentine meat and wines, especially chosen for the variety of dishes.
