• Cordoba dove shooting, in Argentina

Over the last 10 years, the province of Cordoba has become the most popular destination in the world for dove hunting. Over 50 million doves reside in Cordoba Province and government studies show that the population is stable or growing. As a result, the season is open all year round, as doves are considered a pest and consume 20% or more of the local grain crops...

Tom Knapp (USA)

Hi Everybody it's Tom Knapp,
My Hosting position on TV Shows, have afforded me the privilege and the pleasure of hunting birds in many different places.

Being the Wing-Shooter I am, I had to try at least one "High Volume" dove hunt in Argentina. I paid particular attention to the amount of effort and money it would take to arrange this sort of hunting trip. Here's where it gets difficult to explain... there are few words that can be used to make you understand the value that one receives when booking a hunt with SYC Sporting Adventures.

All Said, the quality of their facilities, the attention given to EACH hunter, the food, drink, equipment, and hospitality all fall under the category of Unexplainable Pleasure! The price of their hunting package was less than expected for such exposure to the Fine Life. The shooting --- Not Possible To Exaggerate! Bring your loading gloves, white athletes' tape for your loading thumb, and TWO Guns! Just be careful to not over-do it on the first shoot and end up with a sore shoulder. You'll be mad if you end up watching your buddies shoot because you're too sore to shoot!

I'm Tom Knapp and take it from me, You need to try it because it's difficult to explain. It's completely Over The Top!!!

I have found the instructional opportunities available at SyC Adventure’s El Cortijo to be truly amazing. The incredible number of birds offers a broad array of presentations to learn and practice and develop one’s particular method of shooting…or to try something new! And, since the six hunts are spread over four days, there is time for conversation and reflection on what is being implemented.
As a special bonus, there is a clay pigeon trap available at the lodge to reinforce what you have learned in the field. This is a great opportunity to for anyone to improve on their form, or learn a new method that may suit them better. You can be assured the shooting, the accommodations, the food, the service and, most importantly, the staff will provide you with an experience you will never forget

ELIZABETH LANIER (USA)

What happens when you take 14 women to Argentina dove hunting?
You get an earthquake in Santiago, Chili as they are flying over the country, lost luggage for 5 days, monsoonal rains for one night and more fun and laughter than could have ever been had if everything went as it should!! The staff at SYC went out of their way to provide us with what we needed till our luggage arrived…though we looked like Elle-Mae with rope belts around our waists, we still hit the dove fields with all the joy and excitement of a new adventure.
When the rains kept us from the dove fields the first morning, they set up a Champion trap for us to at least put some lead down the barrels! The food was delicious, the lodge is beautiful, and the bird boys were wonderful, helpful and patient ….. I am sure that the men do not hoot and holler every time they down a bird the way we did. Needless to say, would we all go back again to El Cortijo? Absolutely!

Perhaps the most common thread that all shotgunners share regardless of proficiency either in the field or on the clays course is that they all would like to be better shots. We each have in excess of 20,000 hours of teaching experience as professional shooting instructors and this does not count the thousands of hours we accumulated as wingshooters and pursuing excellence as skeet and sporting clays shooters for 17 years prior to that. This gives us a unique insight that other instructors just don't have when it comes to improving a persons wingshooting ability.
If you want to become a better wingshooter or shotgunner in general it is not intellectual understanding of how to do something that will make you better, it is experience that makes you better. Success comes before work only in the dictionary and there is only one place in the world where you can experience a quantum leap forward in your wingshooting proficiency and that is Argentina.
Argentina has an unlimited supply of doves just waiting to be shot and when you combine that with the worlds most experienced shooting instructors looking over your shoulder as you shoot, what do you think is going to happen to your shooting ability? One of our students Doug Loescher said on a recent trip to El Cortijo, "The outfitter must do well that which he has control over" and my friends let us tell you that the staff and the lodge at El Cortijo do just that. Located only an hour from the Cordoba airport and only minutes from fields teaming with doves El Cortijo awaits your arrival to show you a unique dining and hunting experience that will create an unforgettable memory in your memory bank. At El Cortijo there is no bag limit and no fun limit so come join us on a wingshooting safari that you will remember forever and learn shooting skills that you will use for the rest of your life.....
