Trout fishing in the Patagonian
Patagonia's northern fishing zone lies in the foothills of the Andes in the Neuquen Province, which includes great lakes and rivers that have proved to be excellent areas for the spawning of trouts. This is due in part to an unique combination of abundant food and water qualities,wich are set in a wonderful environment.
This region has made Argentine salmon fishing famous around the world, which main feature is the number of rivers, tributaries and lakes plentiful in animal life and of special interest for the fly-cast fisherman.

Fishing season lasts from early November to end of April, (some areas are open till the 31st of May,but during this time only catch and reelase is permitted). The best fishing options are November and December or March and April, while January and February, (warmest period), guarantee very nice fishing, too.

There are some rivers and lakes where a certain number of fish can be taken, and regulations allow fly fishing, spin casting and trolling as fishing methods. Even though the taking of fish is allowed, SYC SPORTING strongly encourages fly fishing as the method of choice and adheres to the principle of catch and release as the best way to preserve and renew the resource.
