Spent a great three days at the Vintage Cup in Easton, MD last weekend. If you are not a member of the Vintagers, look into it. Great people, great firearms, great shooting, great clothing – they have it all. Go to http://www.vintagers.org and you will understand.
Elizabeth Lanier, Lanier Shooting Sports (http://laniershootingsports.com ) and head of the GRITS (Girls Really Into Shooting) has a group of 9 women shooters signed up for early March, 2010 at El Cortijo. World class shooting, Cordoba Shopping, “Shoot and Hoot”; email her to get involved (stnhorse@aol.com ). This is a tremendous women’s organization and Elizabeth is top of the line.
OSP Shooting School with Gil and Vicki Ash, two of the premier instructors in the country, are coming in February. Go to www.ospschool.com or visit our website to find out more about this great opportunity. If you live in Texas, here is your chance to become the wing shooter you have always dreamed of being, no kidding.
Go to the Shooting Sportsman (SSM) website, http://www.shootingsportsman.com and look at the right hand column. You will see an article called “Shoot ‘Til You’re Short”, by Bruce Buck, Shooting Sportsman’s’ premier writer and one of the classiest gentlemen you will ever meet. Bruce and some of the SSM readers visited El Cortijo in August and I think you will enjoy the read.
Irwin Greenstein of the Shotgun Life, http://www.shotgunlife.com/, published an article I wrote called “Argentina Wing Shooting 101”. We will be putting it on the website, but if you have never been to Argentina, you might want to look at it as a comprehensive primer on everything you need to know to make this wonderful shooting odyssey a reality.
More later this month when I get back from the big DU shoot in Tunica, MS. SYC and Ducks Unlimited, that sounds like a match made in Heaven.
