The Parana River is one of the mightiest and most biodiverse in the world. With more than 220 fish species, many with valuable commercial and sport (13), this river with its wetlands is also a large reservoir of fresh water.

Dorado fishing is both beautiful and challenging in Santa Fe Province.
The Golden Dorado, also known as the “tiger of the rivers”, is the most beautiful fish that lives in the waters of the Paraná River. Its courage and voracity in pursuing its prey has earned it this nickname. With razor sharp teeth, the Dorado is an aggressive hunter, and once it takes a fisherman’s bait, it will make many acrobatic jumps. Fly casting, spin fishing, or bait casting are all productive ways to catch the Dorado.

No other species offers the fisherman such a fight, which can last quite a few minutes. Only the skilled fisherman is able to land the tiger of the Paraná. In addition to the Golden Dorado; Sorubim, a large member of the catfish family; the Paranah, the toothy scavenger; and several other species of fish abound.
